The CAG–ICSSR Colloquium: Gujarat Chapter will bring together eminent policymakers, academicians, researchers, practitioners and students for a thought-provoking dialogue on State Finances of Gujarat, and Welfare of Building and Other Construction Workers.

The colloquium will engage distinguished academicians and experts led by Prof. Niti Mehta, Acting Director, Sardar Patel Institute of Economic and Social Research, Prof. Satyakam Joshi, Former Director, Centre for Social Studies, Prof. Jagdish S Joshi, Vice Chancellor, Gujarat University, Prof. Madhukarbhai S. Padvi, Chairman, ICSSR, and Vice Chancellor, Birsa Munda Tribal University, Shri H.K Dharmadarshi, IAAS, Principal Account General, Gujarat, Shri Anubhav Kumar Singh, Accountant General (Audit I) and Shri Arshad Muhammad, Deputy Accountant General, Gujarat.

A powerhouse of India's economic transformation, Gujarat continues to remain at the forefront of industrial growth, manufacturing, trade, innovation and infrastructure development, making it central to the nation's journey towards a ViksitBharat@2047. As one of India's strongest economic engines, sustaining this momentum requires sound fiscal governance alongside inclusive and equitable development.

The colloquium seeks to create a vibrant platform for meaningful engagement between academia and public institutions, encouraging evidence-based research and informed policy dialogue on critical governance challenges. By fostering interdisciplinary perspectives and collaborative discussions, the initiative aims to contribute towards transparent, accountable and citizen-centric governance.
