Scopus (Elsevier) - Scopus is a large bibliographic database that indexes scholarly literature, including peer-reviewed journals, conference proceedings, trade publications, and book series. It was launched in 2004 by the publishing company Elsevier, and it is one of the largest abstract and citation databases in the world. It contains over 80 million records, including abstracts, citations, and references from more than 25,000 journals in various fields of study. Additionally, it indexes over 5.5 million conference papers and provides access to over 22,000 books in the fields of Social sciences , science, technology, medicine, and humanities. It also offers tools to track research impact, analyze citation patterns, and identify collaboration opportunities. CPDx (Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy, CMIE) – Consumer Pyramids Dx (CPDX) is a database that provides detailed information on household consumption and behaviour patterns in India. It is based on the Consumer Pyramids Household Survey (CPHS) conducted by the Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE). It contains data on expenditures, income, savings, debt, assets, and consumer preferences, making it a valuable resource for researchers, policymakers, and business understand the economic landscape of India. Statista - Statista is a popular database of statistics, market research, and consumer insights, offering over 1.5 million data points from more than 22,500 sources of 150 countries. Founded in Germany in 2007, it provides users with a range of download formats including Excel, PDF, PNG, PowerPoint, Word, and HTML, as well as APIs for programmatic access to data. The database is updated daily and offers interactive charts and infographics that can be embedded into presentations and reports. EconLit with full text (EBSCOhost): Contains full text for nearly 600 journals and is a reliable source of citations and abstracts to economic research dating back to 1886. Volume and issue browsing is available for all full-text journals and provides links to full-text articles in all fields of economics, including capital markets, country studies, econometrics, economic forecasting, environmental economics, government regulations, labour economics, monetary theory, urban economics, and much more. These sources bring the total records available in the database to more than 1.2 million.

 

Soc-Index with Full Text (EBSCOhost): SocINDEX offers comprehensive coverage of sociology, encompassing all sub-disciplines and closely related areas of study. It contains informative abstracts for core coverage journals dating as far back as 1895 and provides data mined from priority coverage journals and selective coverage journals. It includes: nearly 900 full-text journals and magazines; more than 850 full-text books and monographs; dozens of working papers, dissertations and 16800 conference proceedings; Abstracts for more than 1,500 core coverage journals dating as far back as 1895; Data mined from 450 priority coverage journals; nearly 2.5 million records and subject headings from a 20,000+ term sociological thesaurus.

 

Political Science Complete (EBSCOhost): Political Science Complete provides extensive coverage of political topics with a worldwide focus, reflecting the globalization of contemporary political discourse. Designed specifically for students, researchers and government institutions, it covers top-ranked scholarly journals, many of which are unique to the product. It includes, more than 520full-text journals, nearly 340 full-text reference books and monographs, over 36,000 full-text conference papers and provides with a subject-specific thesaurus of nearly 17,500 terms.

 

Library, Information Science & Technology Abstracts, LISTA (EBSCOhost): Library, Information Science & Technology Abstracts indexes more than 560 core journals, nearly 50 priority journals, and 125 selective journals; plus books, research reports and proceedings. Subject coverage includes librarianship, classification, cataloging, bibliometrics, online information retrieval, information management and more. Coverage in the database extends back as far as the mid-1960s. This database also contains more than 330 full text journals and nearly 30 full text monographs.

 

Education Sources(Ebsco-Host): This is the world's largest full-text research database designed for education students, professionals and policymakers. It provides access to nearly 2,000 full text journals, indexing and abstracts for more than 3,500 of education journals, 2,500+ books and education-related conference papers. Coverage spans all levels of education and includes educational specialties such as multilingual education, health education and testing.

 

IndiaStat (Datanet India): IndiaStat is India's comprehensive information portal that provides recent, authentic & exhaustive socio-economic data/information. It is a cluster of 56 sites including India-specific, Sector specific and State specific sites with authentic and comprehensive compilation of secondary level socio-economic statistical data about India and its states on more than 36 variables. JSTOR (ITHAKA): JSTOR is an online archival database, providing access to full text journal articles from more than 2600 academic journals and scholarly content. The contents are provided by more than 1200 publishers in 75 disciplines from more than 57 countries. Because of JSTOR’s archival mission, there is a gap from 1-5 years between the most recently published journal issue and the back issues available in JSTOR. The most recent 3-5 years are generally unavailable. The subjects covered are: Economics, Political Science, Social Work, Sociology and Criminal Justice, Geography, Education, Psychology, Asian Studies, Public Policy, Library Science, Population Studies, Management, Business, Marketing and Finance, Public Affairs, History, etc.

 

Prowess IQ (Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy, CMIE): Prowess is database of large and medium Indian firms. It includes the data on the financial performance of the firms from 1989 onwards. It contains detailed information of 49, 306 firms. These comprise - All companies traded on India's major stock exchanges and several others including the central public sector enterprises. The database covers most of the - Organised Industrial activities; Banking and Organised financial and other services sectors in India. Prowess provides detailed information on each company. J-Gate (Informatics): J-Gate is an electronic gateway to global e-journal literature. Launched in 2001 by Informatics India Limited, J-Gate provides seamless access to millions of journal articles available online offered by 12210 Publishers. NASSDOC acquiring journal literature, indexed from 19500 journals from Social science and Humanities Collections with links to full text at publisher sites. Coverage of over 57 lac articles with back files for majority of them from 2001 onwards and in some case of some publishers starting from their first issue also.

 

PsycArticles (Ebsco-Host): PsycArticles offers full-text articles for 110 journals published by the American Psychological Association. The database includes all material from the print journals. Many titles go back to volume 1, issue 1. It covers Applied psychology, Communication systems, Developmental psychology, Educational psychology, Experimental human and animal psychology, Personality, Psychological and physical disorders, Physiological psychology and neuroscience, Professional personnel and issues, Psychometrics and statistics, Social psychology, Social processes and issues, Sports psychology and leisure and Treatment and prevention.
